Sorta, but no. I was invited to join a homeless hippy group by a girl in it, in San Francisco, they lived in Golden State Park, smelled of weed and played hackeysack and frisby all day long, and ate free food from a local black preacher who brought them pizzas in exchange for bible lessons.
She knew me from whenever I would cut through the section from attending a philosophy group. I was homeless with a job, but usually stayed in very hard to reach spots on the outskirts of the city or in overgrown jurisdictions junctions where cops didn't bother with because a judge might rule they lacked jurisdiction, but I did find this really steep hillside on 6th street on the otherside of the park that I sometimes hid in if I had to get up real early to do laundry or work a very early shift. So they were aware of me, but I never interacred till she approached me.
I couldn't take her seriously as a relationship prospect. Physically she looked my type but was dead behind the eyes. She kept persuading me to join them and even grabbed my hand to take me but I wasn't having it, couldn't stand her smell (I don't do drugs, and she definately did).
The stewp hillside I would occasionally stay on in Golden Gate Park eventually had two hippies and a bulldog camped out at the top of it a few nights of the week. I only entered the area after dark and left before sunrise because I didn't want a police record (cops do sweeps of the area every few months). I didn't initially mind it as I figured if the cops show up, they woukd be the ones detained and not me, as they were easy pickings, but they got into very noisy loud sex and the dog would howl while they did it. My ITouch 4 I used then was having trouble drowning them out. They encoubtered me once when I was going down the hillside as they set up thier tent, so they knew someone sometimes lived down in that impossibly jumble of woods, but we never interacted otherwise. I practically slept vertically how steep the hill was.
I also saw during the last stage of occupy wallstreet after it evaporated on the mainland- it's last outpost was in Hawaii, a bunch of hippies dating the same woman. I knew a older man somewhat associated with them and we would go talk and have a pizza, a old air force vet from Vietnam to talk philosophy. I wasn't interested in joining them, besides the ideological reasons which I thought was stupid, was because I really didn't feel like simping to a matriarch of howling guys and anarchists and hippies.
I generally steer clear of them. The drug use destroys the soul.

I know when 2 people fall in love, it makes no difference what they are or do.

From my observations back in the day, they stuck to themselves.

The only hippies that I knew eventually gave up the lifestyle and settled down with "regular" people, although they kept many of their hippie views of life.
