Once health is affected I think it’s a big problem. I’m all for body positivity, but not when it’s become a movement trying to tell very overweight people they can “be healthy at any size”, and to celebrate being big…. Celebrating an early grave? Celebrating immobility and low quality of life?

It’s dangerous, and being big should not be portrayed as a style choice, and I would say the same for going too far the other direction and restricting to a point of being severely underweight; affecting one’s health.

** I am in no way trying to be rude, or hurtful with what I say… it’s just very concerning to me. I agree people come in many shapes and sizes, and there is no “perfect” , but health should be most important if you care about yourself and those around you.

200lbs is the most anyone needs to weigh. 200lbs isn’t necessarily dangerous. 600lbs is.

30 pounds over weight would easily be too much. I have always been an athlete and stay fit. I married an athlete that stays fit. Aside from esthetics, the health issues are daunting.

When it starts to affect your health, your ability to buy new clothes hes, your ability to work, and finally your ability to be respected.

Not really for me to judge...... but, when it starts affecting your health and your well being, that should be enough to convince a person that some changes are in order. unless you have a death wish.

I think if there is an honest connection, I would say no such thing as too fat, so long as both people are into it. It is still a good idea to set some limits for yourself, like if you don't want to get to X weight.

Being to big for me if not an issue , the bigger the better for me .

To answer your heading question directly, any obesity is too fat: it is unhealthy and the more overweight you are the more dangerous your condition.

I realise some people are morbidly obese and struggle to reduce their weight to a healthy level, so need professional help; but there is also a strange and very dark fetish for becoming crippled by obesity. How to deal with that, I have no idea. It's definitely a medical problem.

Different people like different things - and like to date different people.
Everyone is someone's type - some guys (and girls) will love dating people over 600lbs. Not the majority certainly, but some.
And that's great - everyone has a chance at happiness.

I don't understand where all this moralising is coming from - she asked if she was too fat to date, not if she was too fat to be allowed to exist! Jeez, there's no such thing as 2nd-hand fatness. Any health issues her weight causes her only affect her. Unless she's stealing your food at knifepoint, it's not anyone else's business how much she eats or what she weighs!

When you go from regular clothes sizes to plus it should be a wake up call. Fat is not attractive on anyone andvopens you up to heart disease, lung problems, bone and joint issues etc. There is nothing pretty about it.
