Why are adults pushed into dating?

One lady I know hasn’t dated in about 13 years because her husband left her for a younger woman and she vowed to never date or marry again.
She should meet someone so she won’t be single and lonely. She is told by her loved ones she should trust again and find the love she deserves. She told me there’s a man at her job that likes her and really wants to go out with her but she can’t do it because she’s scared of getting hurt and she loves her single life. She was married for 18 years.l since she was 24.
