I heard dating your coworker is a bad idea. Is that true?

I have a huge crush on my coworkers and I’m working up a courage to ask him out tomorrow. A friend of mine told me it isn’t a good idea and just forget about it. My older sister said there’s no harm in trying but if we do date that’s a huge risk we’re putting on ourselves and work place romances are a horrible idea. She said it’s up to be but it isn’t really a great idea.
Now I’m having doubts. What should I do?

Ive dated co workers and its gone well. But ive seen cases where it has gone spectacularly bad.

If it doesnt work out can you be civil? Can you deal with seeing an ex for hours every single day? Think he can deal with it?

Youll be office gossip fodder and have to manage how you interact to keep it professional. Can you both deal with that?

If it does work out could you deal with seeing him all day at work, then potentiall all day at home and when you go out on dates together? Some people cant handle that and it kills the relationship

Yep because if/when it ends you still work together, or you're argument's will be gossiped over by others in the work place. If you have to, please promise me you will atleast work on opposite shifts. 😎
