Why do people ghost?

I had 2 separate dates with 2 guys in the last while, we had texted for a bit b4 meeting up, seem to get on... had the date & then i pretty much got ghosted after... if they aren't interested i'm ok with that but its just plain rude not to actually say they aren't interested!

Whats the point? Taken the attitude that if they can't be honest they aren't worth dating!

Immaturity, not knowing how to proceed with you, finding someone else, avoiding conflict.
Silence speaks for itself, they simply don't want you in their life.
But aren't honest.

They're cowards

@reubles you're right, they don't have the courage or confidence. Breaking up via text is a little cowardly too....if you've been in a long standing relationship.

The nature of online dating is meeting strangers and finding out very quickly that you might not be a good match. In cases like that it would be polite and proper to tell the person that you aren’t interested but do you really owe them that? It’s easier to ghost than be polite. Most people move on with life and are not offended.

@Muthafukajones its happened too many times now so not offended but if they can't be honest it just shows their character

@BondGirl84 sometimes women can be too upfront about what they want. This puts men off. Dating is about observing another person and seeing how they are.

I learn a lot about a new woman by going to a busy restaurant or bar and waiting to be seated. Tons of information is gained from that experience. Just an example.

They are cowards and are selfish
BarbossasHusband · 36-40, M
Because we're either too embarrased, scared of confrontation or worried about hurting others to do the proper thing.

@BarbossasHusband getting ghosted is hurtful!
BarbossasHusband · 36-40, M
@BondGirl84 I know. I'm not proud to have ghosted people, but I have identified the issue and has beeen able to start working on improving as a human being.

Rudeness can be subjective.

You might think leaving without saying anything is rude, somebody else might find telling you in your face to be way more rude
Because they don't have the courage to say I'm not interested but good luck

I ghost because I used to tell people, but they take it really badly and I won't deal with that bullshit haha
BondGirl84 · 36-40, F
@caccoon not everyone will take honesty in a bad way
caccoon · 36-40
@BondGirl84 I know, but a lot of them do
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Just easier and think it hurts less.

🤷‍♂️ it's what people do
Tres13 · 51-55, M
If u don’t do it ,Ghost
Ghosting allows people to avoid conflict and not have to deal with the repercussions of their decision or it could be a form of reverse psychology

Idk it depends some people act unhinged and I've had others be thankful. So if I get an uncomfortable vibe with them or we've only been talking a day or two then idgaf
