Why don't some guys speak up when they have a girlfriend and someone is hitting on them?

This lady was hitting on my friend but wouldn't tell her he had a girlfriend, so finally I said he did and she backed off. Freaking idiot 🤦

My girlfriend/future wife had a signal that she gave me if a guy was bothering her. When I saw the signal, I rescued her. We never had a problem, even with drunks.
