When I was single i had reasonable success on dating apps

A long time ago before they were saturated by scammers, organised crime, AI and bot-generated fake profiles they sort of worked as the people were mostly real and mostly genuine. That's 10 to 15 years ago when I was in between my first ex and second ex.

Back then real people wanted to date other real people and I had plenty of dates (though most never went past date 1) in the space of just 2 years until I met my second ex (via a dating site) and I know now that was a bad choice but I got my awesome 8 y/o daughter out of that relationship. Being the sort of guy I am I stopped looking/dating to be honest and faithful and probably should not have stopped looking/dating at least for a while.

Fast forward to the last few years (esp since Covid) since I left my second ex in 2018 and they have totally gone to shit. AI, bots, organised crime, etc. has taken over the platforms. dating apps have gamified dating by making it look like playing a poker machine, and weaponised toxic feminism has fully transactionalised dating because all single women only want the top 1 percent of guys and everyone else is effectively invisible to women.

So much so that now I don't even bother trying anymore. Singleness for me into the oldness of glee.
