Do you believe dating apps to be mostly a disingenuous?

I mean… if they were actually there to help anyone or actually worked effectively… 🤔 they would have their streak of revenue suddenly cut off….

Maybe an actually effective dating app would just charge a premium of like a thousand dollars because it worked so well… 🤔 I wonder what kind of dating app an advanced AI would develop???

fake profiles are all over the dating apps no matter what security measurements were taken. It is easy to take great photos, say the right things, and connect with someone online. So people take advantage if this to create fake profiles to scam others or communicate with someone they feel is out of their league.

I am not a fan of dating apps at all! Though a lot of my friends use them and narrate the fun experiences they've had, the idea doesn't resonate with me — they're nothing but an algorithm. I think the probability of meeting a person through friends or family at a party or a get-together is more convincing to me.

The apps differ from the userbase. Westerners primarily populate the apps and they SUCK

The apps COULD punish people who don't accept matches and just keep scrolling and wasting everyone's time but I think that apps in theory offer functionality and the users have the choice to accept it or take it
