What I don't understand about Irish culture is they're crazy about potatoes... but they're known more for their Irish Whiskey... but not Irish Vodka

It's because they love their potatoes so much, they take good care of them instead of turning them into vodka. 😌

potatoes were brought to ireland by The Empire, as a cheap food source.

they were making whisky a LOT longer

We are also known for our Irish Poitín (putcheen) our Irish moonshine. Better than vodka!
Same colour as vodka but guaranteed to knock the living daylights outta ya.
5 gallons purified water
6 big potatoes
2 lbs malted 6 row barley
1 lbs rye
5 lbs cracked corn
1 1/2 lbs sugar
1 1/2 tbsp yeast
2 tsp sugar
1/2 warm water (90 - 110 degrees)
something something. the brittish... lolz.

its more to do with starvation than booze 😇
