I had the fortunate experience of being in Ontario Canada last Thanksgiving where I was invited to spend that weekend with my Canadian friend and her immediate family on their farm. I was officially in Detroit on company business that week but took my friend up on her offer to meet her at the Windsor/Detroit border crossing where she picked me up in her father's pickup truck and gave me a ride to her parent's place on Lake Erie, which is a lake that is the size of what we call a "sea" where I come from! 🇸🇪

What impressed me about her family and her old college friends who showed up as well, was the Canadian spirit they all showed when it came to celebrating Thanksgiving.... which included a metal wash tub filled with ice which was then filled with cans of Canadian beer which was then placed on a wooden picnic table as everyone sat around outside wearing winter coats and mitts, drinking ice cold Canadian beer from the can! ...not warm beer around a nice campfire, oh no, it was ice cold beer fetched from glacial meltwater! 🥶

I've only had one Canadian beer and that's Carling Black Label.

Fun fact: Black Label is most popular beer in South Africa, and several other African countries.
@basilfawlty89 Never tried it. Honestly didn't even know it was a Canadian brand.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow @PicturesOfABetterTomorrowIn the late 80's and early 90's it was popular amoung the hipsters where I lived.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow @JimboSaturn I think it's cause it used to be the strongest beer sold here in South Africa that's mass produced.

Plus it comes in quarts and most South Africans prefer lagers.

Love this, and I like Moose Head beer to
Fullmetal · 51-55, M
@HumanEarth cut er loose, we're drinkin Moose!! Great beer, but all Canadian beer is great!!
Milk bags. Something I forgot about. Not a thing here in Manitoba. Not sure why.
@JimboSaturn The argument for bagged milk is with 4L you are only exposing 2L at a time to air so at least in theory it should keep longer than a 4L jug.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I hate the waste it creates though, no recyclable .
@JimboSaturn Yeah. I mean I don't see why it has to at this point. We have biodegradable plastics we didn't have when I was in Ontario 30 years ago.
