i miss the 70s and 80s 😢
Isthisit · F
@beermeplease yeah the 80s were good. I wasnt alive in the 70s unfortunately.
beermeplease · M
@Isthisit i was born in 71 so i remember the mid-late 70s
I started the 90’s at 14 and ended them at 24. It was a great time to be a teen and/or young adult. Fashion, music, and movies were just fantastic.
bijouxbroussard · F
@JustGoneNow I went from 30-39 in the 90s ! I feel so ancienne…I remember one of the nuns asking us in class, "when the 20th century ends, in the year 2000, how old will you be ? Figure it out." I realized I’d be 40 and said, "Wow, I’ll be so old !" The nun laughed. 😃
I was born in 96 but yes. Tbh I miss not being aware of the world.
thewindupbirdchronicles · 46-50, M
Not really now. Though it was unique being just before the digital age holding onto that analog touch and characteristics. I don't mind the once b-films and late night television, endless culture, that were intriguing that bewitched you.
But I could have done without the depressive parts looking back, but I don't know, and I'm thinking of music from them, it held a little more culture and open expression then still compared to now where everthing is about a sale that doesn't even give back to the artist (in music)
And clearly I'm also saying there was less digital noise, where if you had a connection you saw them smile, or be sad.

my life in the 90s was polar opposite
a Lot of Really Awesome things happened to me
and a Lot of traumatizing BS happened to me.

I was a little kid hardly aware of time and space outside my small family bubble. But I think I would like to experience at least late 90s as an adult if I could afford to travel and go to gigs.

@JustGoneNow Idk, I tried it so many times and it just never worked. 😆 It all got just worse after I read something nasty about Reznor in Manson's biography. Although, a few people claimed the book was partly fabricated, I'm not sure that part was.
@CrazyMusicLover Gotchya. Yeah, I don’t know nothing about that? What was said that happened?
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@JustGoneNow
He left the band shortly after.
“ One of the most destructive studio moments involved Reznor smashing Daisy’s prized, refinished Fender Jaguar electric guitar, which he’d salvaged from the scrap pile of their “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” video shoot.
He (Daisy Berkowitz) walked into the live room, excited to find Trent seated there. The rest of us hung out by the mixing console, monitoring the live room through two closed-circuit television cameras. On screen, we could see Daisy excitedly showing off his refurbished guitar to Trent, who actually seemed interested. We watched as Trent reached for the guitar, crooked it under his arm, strummed the strings a few times and then mercilessly smashed it over the amplifier, consigning it to the fate that was meant for it half a year ago. Trent casually left the room, and Daisy stood there aghast for several seconds before storming out of the studio, giving himself the rest of the day off to try and comprehend what had just happened.”

Pre Internet, we managed. Communication was slow, did we really need to know everything what was going on in the world. There is enough around us, with our family and friends.
No threat from Putin, China was no threat. The last of the age of innocence.
Music was good, food was good, friends were good, family too. Yes it was a good age.
Thatcher gone, but the seeds of greed and self interest had been sown.

YES.. that was my prime.. and it was when www was emerging. Miss those email & IRC days until Facebook came and screwed it up. People had respect for one another.
Repete · 61-69, M
Yes , and the 80’s, and the 70’s. All have their great memories for me. Not so sure after the 90’s

I miss the 70s and 80s more, but the 90s were okay
Mudkip · 31-35, M
The 90s were the best 😢
BijouPleasurette · 36-40, F
I was in school in the 1990s. I had lots of fun.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
The '90s were pretty great for me in a lot of ways, but unfortunately, I was getting sicker and sicker without really knowing it at the time. Looking back, my behavior was often abominable, and it wouldn't be until the 2000s that I learned why.
Even so, yeah, I miss a lot about the '90s.

@Fluffybull My favorite!
Dez580 · 61-69, M
I really miss the 1970s before AIDS etc, we never used condoms on dates with lasses then, nor were we expected to
bijouxbroussard · F
@Dez580 That’s why I specified the U.S. because I understand that was my point of reference: abortion wasn’t legal here (it’s since gone back to being illegal in some states). I thought perhaps people were more lax in the UK because abortion was an available option then. Chemical birth control was also less effective than now, with unpleasant side effects.
Dez580 · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard i understood that, but you were commenting on my answer. No matter, healthy interchanges are always good to share, and thank you for replying agin to me so quickly, much appreciated. Though abortion has never been a form of contraception since the pill was made widely available in the 1960s
bijouxbroussard · F
@Dez580 Not as a form of contraception, but as a last resort when contraception failed. And the pill of the 1960s and 70s often did.
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
I don’t miss the reaching for Jesus bangs or the windbreakers, but that was such an awesome decade to grow up in. No social media. No misconstrued texts or expectations concerning how quickly they’re returned. Deals still made by means of a handshake. Seriously great times.
AngelKrish · 26-30, M
I miss my childhood, sweet memories 🤗
