Other countries? The US still has slavery. It is a lucrative business. Most of us ignore it.

@SW-User Yeah, it's called privately owned prisons.
SW-User
@LordShadowfire You don't have an answer. Enslaved women and children aren't in prisons. Migrant workers aren't in prisons. Employers can underpay or not pay their employees and get away with it. Maybe, most of us are slaves.

Are you privileged enough to not be a slave?
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@SW-User They're talking about a specific topic only, not a generalized "we're all slaves" thing. We are technically slaves, there's different kinds of slavery. Some countries have it more pronounced though and less protections.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@SatanBurger Thank you. I didn't respond because that sounded like a deflection to me, since we were talking about literal enslavement of certain ethnic groups.

@SatanBurger If we are all slaves, there is no "specific topic."
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@SW-User This will be the only thing I say, you understand the point being made full well, don't play that.
SW-User
@SatanBurger What is the point—that we are all slaves, but some more than others?

Slaves are in the USA as we type these sentences. If you walk up to one and touch them, you will be able to feel their pulse. The slaves are alive and breathing, and they are near you now.

I said that slavery is a lucrative business and that people are being used. There are sex slaves, enslaved migrant workers, and citizen slaves who get paid very low wages, or none at all.

Is anything I have said not true?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@SW-User Everything you've said is missing the fucking point. I'm talking about literal fucking slavery, as in forcing black people to work for no money. You are doing this with the intent of distracting from the main goddamn point.
SW-User
@LordShadowfire Is this how slavery is defined?

"literal fucking slavery, as in forcing black people to work for no money, yo"

When are they going to update the dictionaries?

@LordShadowfire Where did I try to justify slavery?

Do you think it's your topic because you started it? That isn't a good attitude to have. Is this only about your perception, and the way you feel?

Black people may be used as slaves, along with other racial groups, now. I have no interest in owning or using slaves. That said, most of us are indifferent, and most of us purchase goods and visit places made by slaves. People love going to Dubai, despite the fact it uses Indian slaves to build and maintain it.

Do you think your narratives are any comfort to them? Slavery still exists, but only slavery from 200 years ago is important. It only happens if it's in the movies.

Is this what keeps you up at night? You must be very privileged. Ignorance isn't cheap.
