One of the latest things around where I live is for people to say POC refuse to take responsibility for their lot in life... to somehow magically throw off the few hundred years of slavery, generational racism, and being underprivileged as if it has nothing to do with their lot in life, has no meaning at all.

I've been in more than one argument over this.

@specman No, what it sounds like to me is that you're unaware of your privilege, which is part of the whole privilege.
