In to the mind of a racist

Do racists genuinely think that racism is like living with schizophrenia. That racism is made up and racists doesn't exist?

I saw some racist jokes about how people "see racists everywhere, in their closet, under the bed"

So. The mind of a racist: Brush of and gaslight the reality a large number of people experience. Claim they are crazy obsessed and schizophrenic so they see pretend racism everywhere (because racism isn't real.)

I wonder if the try to gaslight and manipulate people in general in their lives. Can we say that racists who straight out deny racism are often having narcissist tendencies? Is there a connection there?

To always judge and look down on others and feed on hate speech stereotypes takes a certain type of person. I don't think they can hate others unless they deep down resent parts of themselves too.

Under hate hides fear. Racists are very scared people. But what are they so afraid of? Are they afraid of getting in danger? Do they want everyone with x skin colour to be far away from them to protect themselves? Do they honestly believe a coloured person is more dangerous?
Is it a revenge plot for personal reasons? Are they feeling inferior and taking it out on someone else?

The irony is that because racism exists. People who are targeted become on guard and feel in danger too. Which can make someone less polite. So it's fear verses fear.

The only way to stop fear is to realize that fear is an illusion. Fear itself can't change the course of events. Only actions can. But there's never any guarantee for safety. Where there's people. There's always a risk.

I know exactly who you're talking about. That guy is every southern stereotype mashed into one. Ignorant, racist, quasi-literate, incestuous and just plain stupid. And he always gets triggered with me when I poke fun at southerners. Of course he does. He was saying that to me when I was pointing typical denial among racists when they're called out on it. Didn't say anything close to his insinuation that I was making out racists to be everywhere, lol. Clearly, I just hit a nerve. Gee, I wonder why?

I've seen those who are openly racist hilariously say they don't consider themselves a racist, so maybe a lot of them really don't believe racism exists. It wouldn't surprise me, since they get bred to believe that people of color aren't people at all. It's just typical.

@Ducky Are they all really bred to think that? I know some are but I think many also develop it , they hang out woyh other racists and then it just grows til they are one themselves

@Queendragonfly That's also how it can be bred into them: becoming part of the herd like the livestock they are.

@Ducky Or they experience something scary that happened from x person who belongs to x group and as automatic defense "That group is dangerous people"
