I don't get it when people say that you can't say you're not racist just because you have a black friend

I'm probably gonna get some backlash for this but I'm being sincere.

I'm unfortunate enough to be related to a racist.

And man, he is a downright a**hole to anyone who isn't white.
The dude wouldn't be caught dead being friends with someone of another race.

He also gives my cousin and her husband hell because she married a poc.
We were at a get together a few years ago and he openly mocked them, called him names, made fun of appearances, not even close to banter.

It was an awkward and cringe night 😔

The things I heard him say in private are a lot worse, I won't repeat them here.

I've broken off ties with him, but yeah...

My parents are racist to a degree although you would rarely catch a glimpse of it , as they are recognized as sweet folk by those they are surrounded by ....

My dad worked for Jewish employees and would constantly slander them and I would cringe and confronted him on when I got older to no avail ....

My mom would say about the black and Asian people she worked with .... Ohhhh , that one is nice but most of them are lazy and dirty ...I , again cringed , called her on it as I aged ....

I don't know why or how I did not inherit their sensibilities , but fuck I am glad I was given the sense to recognize it as racism and not give them a pass ...

But , it's like you said Fishy, both had black and Jewish 'friends ' , but had some deep seated ugly contradictions ...
