Blue sky king defending slave owners. He owned 600+ slaves not a good role model. And he got a 13 year old pregnant what a sick rapist.

Factually Thomas Jefferson did own some 600+ slaves in his lifetime but no evidence exists that he ever impregnated a 13 y.o. That's zealous story "embellishing". That said.....what was commonplace at another time in history does not have much to do with now. Was slave owning wrong......yes by today's thinking it is. But what was acceptable another time in history does not necessarily make a person bad or incorrect...even though now we look at things differently.........according to customs and ideas now. Comparing actions or words from years ago to now is called "presentism". For instance we now know if ANYONE encourages others to smoke ....inducing cancer......that person would be an a-hole. But as recently as the 1970's--1980's it was common place for many Hollywood stars to advertise smoking as "cool". Not to defend Jefferson but at the time in history that he lived no one looked at him as being an a-hole for owning slaves. It was actually commonplace in both the north and the south, Only now as times have changed and thinking has evolved do we think as a society that what Jefferson did was "bad". Just sayin'........

And the rest is bullsh*t by slavery and rape apologists. If they knew they didn’t want to be slaves themselves, they didn’t want anyone raping their daughters, they knew they were wrong. And there were plenty of abolitionists even then. If you have any sense of honor (which they didn’t) they can be held accountable. And comparing chattel slavery in the U.S. to smoking is like comparing the Holocaust to smoking.

NO PLACE in my comment did I compare smoking to the slavery. I said times change........thinking changes......language changes from the 1700's to now.....even from the 1970's to now. I NEVER defended slavery.........or Jefferson. I said historically speaking there was never a factual claim that Jefferson raped a 13 year old. Did he have offspring from "A" slave........yes he did. But NO EVIDENCE is there to show if that mating was consensual or not.And certainly none to show the woman was a minor. If we have multi-racial relationships now in the open..............a consensual one back then certainly would have been behind closed doors and no one of his stature would have admitted to it in writing..........and no one from the 1700's is still alive..........so no evidence exists to say it was rape.

You throw that out there, but you’re too much of a coward (and you know you’re wrong) to ever answer that. You can assume if the girl is 14 and property, (and with property they list ages) owned by a 40-something year old man, she had no choice. It was rape. Rape apologist and racist.
