Evidently he survived without any nicks and dings. When you look at the people in the concentration camps you see that the Jews are in their nice uniforms looking fat and happy. The other people are the skin and bones. If the Nazis had intended to kill the Jews they sure went to a lot of trouble to keep them fat and happy and protected from danger.
