Honest question: What makes it difficult for immigrants to get to the US?

What stopping them from migrating legally?

We don't have nearly enough immigration judges. America is actually one of the hardest countries in the world to legally immigrate to because of how slow the process is.

@BohemianBoo Ya think there might be a reason for that?
@sunsporter1649 Yes, the Republicans and a lot of Democrats want immigrants to come here illegally, that way they can be used as cheap labor. If it was easier to come here legally, then immigrants would have the same protections that we have.

@BohemianBoo Yup, that's why the demonocrats have fought so hard to keep the border closed to illegal aliens, practically nobody has come across in the last three years, sealed up tight
@sunsporter1649 No, they could have done better. And like I said, a lot of Democrats are with the Republicans on this. Both parties are funded by donors who want illegal immigration.
However, Democrats have generally been better on the border. Biden has deported more illegals than Trump, plus Democrats are much less likely to cause the conditions that cause migration, such as outsourcing and sanctions on Latin American countries.
If you actually want less illegals, then Biden is a better choice than Trump. If you just want a president who says racist shit, but is worse on border security, then Trump is your guy.

@BohemianBoo How much did you pay for that bridge they sold you?
@sunsporter1649 #deflection because you know I'm right.

@BohemianBoo you have to take in account of the total number of illegal aliens each had ( Biden don’t get credit for the ones deported under the Trump title 42. ) take the numbers each deported and get a percentage then you will actually see who deported more.
@specman Why doesn't Biden get credit for those? He could have removed Title 42, he chose not to.
specman · 51-55, M
@BohemianBoo he let it expire. Plus to remove it he would have to retract the national emergency and with Covid and all he wasn’t doing that.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@specman Yeah, but he easily could have considering we're not in a state of emergency anymore.

Also, and this doesn't get talked about enough, there are policies our government does that causes migration. America purposely destroyed Venezuela through sanctions, which caused a series of mass migration up Latin America. Outsourcing also causes migration because it puts people in other countries out of work. There are also lots of people migrating because their homes were destroyed by the rising sea level.
Now both parties have been bad on these issues, but in recent years, Democrats have been much better.
Trump greatly increased outsourcing, while Biden lowered it.

@BohemianBoo Biden tried to remove title 42 but Republicans sued and 42 stayed in effect the entire national emergency. Trump deported more if you go by it correctly by starting with the total illegal aliens then take the amount of deportations. Getting what percentage was actually deported
@specman But like we said, Biden could have easily ended the national emergency.

If you're saying Trump deported more by percentage, that doesn't really matter. In this context, it makes more sense to go by raw numbers.
Also, this bill that the Democrats want to pass is everything Republicans pretend to believe in when it comes to immigration.

@BohemianBoo Covid was going on he couldn’t lift the national emergency. He had to let 42 expire due to being sued for trying to end 42.. deportation has to be a percentage when comparing two things . You can’t go off of raw numbers that doesn’t make sense and you know that. Biden would lose and you know it.
It was a bad deal put together where Democrats knew Republicans wouldn’t go for it. The democrats didn’t want them to force joes hand and close the border.
@specman Covid stopped being a national emergency years before Biden let Title 42 expire.

You have to go by raw numbers because of the process. If each of us are scooping water out of a lake, it's going to take us about the same amount of time, even if my lake is bigger. And the fact that there were more illegals in America by the time Biden became president, that's something to blame Trump for.

What exactly is bad about the bipartisan bill?
Also, why did Trump say Republicans should oppose it before he even knew what was in it?
