I want migrants to come to the USA

Immigration can be great if done properly. People need to be welcome with open arms but at the same time vetted. We need to know why they are coming, that they are not carrying communicable disease, are not involved in human trafficking, are not criminals, and want to be a contributing part of the country.

The rate of immigration should be regulated by OUR ABILITY TO VETT THEM, not this wide open invasion crap.

I agree. My father was born in Germany in 1937 and came to the US legally as an immigrant in 1957. He had to immediately Register for the draft right away, pay taxes, had to have a job arranged before being allowed to immigrate, had to be able to read and write English before immigrating, and lastly his first year living in the US he had to live with a Sponsor family that reported monthly as to my father's degree of acceptability to be allowed to stay in the US after that first year. That family became a second family to my father and us. He was very well vetted before allowing to come to the US.

What happened to those vetting procedures?
