Do you think this 'cancel culture' is actually quite harmful and begets more hatred/judgement unnecessarily?

In many ways, yes it is often petty and vindictive and serves to feed a sense of entitlement from self-righteous ideologues. It punishes people for their ignorance and doesn't serve to fix the social dialogue that creates this lack of understanding.

But on the other hand, it speaks volumes to the fact that the privileged elites rarely face any accountability for their actions. The only alternative people see to remedy this lack of justice is to create a cancel culture where mob justice is allowed to thrive.

Ultimately, the question is what is more harmful? A society where certain classes of people are immune to the social consequences of the damage they cause, or a society where impassioned mobs apply punitive measures for what often amounts to flawed perspectives?
