There actually WERE a couple of weird things...like one of the other boys had Nolan's phone and deleted social media content AFTER Nolan died.
"Civil rights attorney Ben Crump and forensic investigators working for Nolan Wells' family said Thursday that data from the teen's phone showed social media content was deleted after his death and that his state autopsy found no water in his lungs. The findings were presented days after a Jackson County grand jury declined to bring charges in the case.
"We're not accusing anybody of anything nefarious," Crump said, urging anyone with information to come forward.
His parents, Elmore and Christine Wonsley, do not believe it was an accidental drowning. They hired Crump to lead a private investigation that included an independent autopsy and a review of his phone data.
Wells' mother, Christine Wonsley, got his phone from Wells' friends after he was reported missing on July 4. She said his lack of Snapchat history seemed suspicious when she got the phone back. Her son was a constant social media user. She questioned whether photos, videos or messages had been deleted from his phone."
