Do people ever tell you you don't look like the ethnicity you are?

I'm Hispanic/Latino (Mexican and Argentinian descent, mostly), I have a Spanish surname, yet people tell me all the time I don't look it 😅 They've never been to Latin America, I guess. A lot of people of European descent there, and various eye, hair, and skin colors. "Hispanic" covers a wide range.

I'm half Irish, half Italian. I mainly look Irish as I have fair skin and auburn hair. I remember one of my second cousins on my Italian side said, "You don't really look Italian." It wasn't until years later I thought to myself, "Neither do you " lol. 🤷‍♀( she's half Italian , half English).
One of my cousins told me my eyes looked like my Sicilian grandmother, I said "oh you're right!".
It's Def interesting how we have certain recessive traits or dominant ones of our heritage.
