I Believe In The Rise Of Werewolves

I believe in the unification of werewolves. Whatever idea was behind the start of this group, which seems to be the idea of starting a pointless war, the reality is this: we are disjointed. In a time when people are more connected than they have ever been, we remain detached from each other; reliant entirely on the questionable, faceless advice of random individuals on the internet. I do what I do because I want to help others, and this is currently the only medium for doing so. With that said, we need to seek organization; peaceful organization. For the good of our psychological and social health as well as the health of our children, we need to be able to speak openly to each other; to form a community and establish leadership. For that to occur, we need to seek acceptance from humanity. We need to expose our existence. Many are against the idea, due to a fear of what such action may result in. However, we are in an age of the greatest level of acceptance of the supernatural to date. Many people already believe in us. Many would probably be willing to help us in our exposure. The existence of Human Supporters of Werewolves is proof that there already are some. Also, with today's technology, little could be done to us that could not be immediately reported, officially or unofficially. We cannot be killed quietly anymore. Someone will always find out. More importantly, if we are prepared, we will know exactly how to deal with as many eventualities as possible. It requires only that we care about our futures and the futures of our children and that we seek organization. Otherwise, we are choosing to stay where we are. We are choosing to remain in the dark; promoting ignorance, intolerance, and psychological torment. That is a choice we all have to make. I know what I have chosen. The question is: does anyone else care?

I doubt humanity will accept werewolves if this bs is real... The hunters will hunt the werewolves down and kill them and use them as trophies. It will split humanity amongst themselves and werewolves will die off, collected by scientists and governments. Plus the haters and werewolf addicts. Not to mention, some of the 'wolves' i have met previously here seem like they think they are up and above humans and we are just just shallow dumb people... This will never happen

I am not denying the existence of some non-humans who see themselves as better than humans. However, it is best to think of them as our "teenagers" (and not coincidentally, they usually are teenagers). I openly admit that I used to be mad at human society, but that was mostly because I was insecure. I did not understand myself and I did not feel accepted. Because we are in hiding, such a process has become normal for us. As for your statement on werewolves being hunted down, you seem to think that such action would be simple. There is a relatively simple legal argument that would give werewolves human rights or, at the very least, "animal rights". As long as we participate in society, killing a werewolf would be, by definition, murder. You can't just get around that. Even if the general public agreed to set aside their own laws, we have supporters. We have friends. We have families. We can't just be hunted down like deer in the forest. If such action were taken, it would be broadcast as a genocide (by definition) and tantamount to declaring war. With that said, I am giving humanity the benefit of the doubt. Undoubtedly, a significant portion of people would be indifferent and many would be accepting of us. Only some portion of society would be violent and intolerant, and they would automatically be deemed murderers.

You seem to have pretty high hopes such a thing as this... Have you studied human history yet?

My degree is in the study of humans (anthropology). So yes, I understand human history. You have to admit, though, that things are a bit different now than they were in 200 or in 1500. I am not expecting full acceptance. To be realistic, I'm expecting tolerance before acceptance. There are two factors that cannot be denied. Firstly, we are more connected now than ever before. You can't just kill people and twist the facts like you could in the days of early Christianity (when they controlled the only public media). The color of a dress and non-Christmas Starbucks cups become national news in this country. I think genocide wouldn't go unnoticed. Secondly, as I said, we have supporters. Our friends and families would not stand by if such an event were to occur. The world would know it, and the illegality of it would be undeniable. Yes, I am hopeful, because I have to be. I do not know how open you are to the possibility of the existence of werewolves, but our current reality is that we are "hiding" from the public. We have been for years, specifically because of the history that you suggest. However, we are experiencing the most open and intellectual period of human history. It's not perfect, but there may not be a better time to seek acceptance. It would be risky, but it is worth the risk to me. The alternative of fading into obscurity, bathed in stereotypes and misconceptions meanwhile losing our culture, our history, and our sanity, is much less desirable for me.

The very fact that we are more concerned by a christmas cup and the color of a damn dress is more than enough to cause concern for humanity....

Yes, it is saddening. However, the people who care about such things do not make up the whole of the population. I didn't even know about the Starbucks cup "controversy" until I heard the Nostalgia Critic reference it, and I didn't hear about the dress "controversy" until I watched the 2015 recap. There are people out there who focus on important issues.
@Drachona Through the fantasy and mystery films, werewolves and others are no longer terribly anonymous. It is no longer the big bogey. Let's call it a slight sensitization of the people. It also somehow plays into the hands and opens up more scope. Well at least my thoughts.
@WondrousLeafi If the hunters do that then all the martyrs and your existence can no longer be hushed up. I wonder why the hunters have so much power for years. What if they are hunted? What makes the hunters so sure that they are infallible? As at the time of the Inquisition? Was it the mass of numerical superiority? Seriously, I've always wondered, because only when all are isolated you can easily catch them and the opposite is a solid cohesion. A large troop can not be easily targeted. Especially not stalking with the wind.

@DoveJana I agree with you. While the general perception of werewolves and other beings is still based heavily on popular media, people are more open and sympathetic to us than ever before. They've been primed for the realization that we do exist. All we need to do is spread truth, not lies.
