Plants and mosquitoes won't kill you instantly at all, but I'd not want to be anywhere near a hungry crocodile or a grumpy hippopotamus.

My most common prey is the germ-laden Bluebottle ("house-fly") when it comes in my house. Insecticide spray in hand, I corner them in the bathroom.
