Do you hate spiders?

I refused to share my bedroom with one. He (or she) was black, hairy and large and although he is known as a house spider, I was determined to put him out of mine to go and find someone elses. I don't mind spiders, I could never kill one as I am more of a pot and card girl and it was this method I used to capture him.
He seemed to pull the old pity ploy and made it look as though he suddenly only had three legs, but I was too savvy to fall for that old trick.
So we agreed to part ways with no bad feelings. He appreciated that I could have squished him as some do, but was grateful that I had treated him kindly. If this makes me sound like a spider whisperer, maybe I am. He was sorry for invading my space but I forgave him. I took him outside and taught him how to fly.

I'm not madly keen on them, especially around my sleeping area, but I do appreciate the work they do in controlling the population of house flies (which I cannot stand). That has been important during this unusually warm winter.
