Perhaps because a lot of the richest people and companies make their money from the exploitation of poor people?
Bri89 · 36-40, M
A lot of people who are poor believe that the rich owe them something instead of trying to go and get it themselves. Apparently, rich people don't deserve the fruits of their labor, and they need to "spread the wealth" and give it to others who have not produced what they've produced.
The thing is if you want to make loads of money, come up with an idea, show some initiative, and achieve your dreams.

Mostly jealousy. The very wealthy people I've known personally all worked hard for their money, created jobs and treat others well.

People hate for many reasons. Affluence is just a small one.

A lot of it seems from media/political propagandists who want to stereotype rich people as greedy, selfish bastards who care only for themselves and don't give a damn about those who work for them.
I'm sure there are some who fit that description, but I'd wager that most don't.
