Why is it that many Christians accept that evolution is a fact but then deny that the Human animal has evolved as well?

I don't understand that compartmentalization

Not personally Christian, but I guess some see us as special due to our consciousness which might mean we were specifically made by God while all else evolved. Idk tho

Yeah we do tend to think we're special lol. But lots of animals have consciousness and even higher level reasoning.
