Are humans Apes? Are humans animals? Many creationists don't seem to understand this relationship. Here's a brief, easy to understand video.

Essentially it explains the concept of nested hierarchies which just means that you possess not only the qualities characteristic of humans but those characteristics of apes, animals and vertebrates.

Creationists tend to not invest a lot of effort into understanding even the very basics of scientific principles or findings. Of course they are shocked to find out that humans are indeed apes.

I don't want to necessarily characterize it as an intentional ignorance but yeah, they often don't seem to investigate beyond what their favourite youtube preacher has said.

@QuixoticSoul They invent their own, deliberately flawed "scientific theories" which they dishonestly present as the genuine theories. Then they point out all the flaws in an attempt to discredit the genuine theories.

@Sharon I may have mentioned how funny it is that these apes (as humans are) misunderstand evolution to say that we descended from monkeys. Monkeys are as distant from apes as house cats are from tigers.

@BlueSkyKing I think that sites like Answers in Genesis and the like are appealing to their own people, those who are already convinced. The ones who like to preach their pseudo science on places like this may be convinced they are doing it for all the right reasons, trying to show us ignorant Atheists where we are wrong. But this is only my opinion and I have no evidence to support my claims.
