in 80's usa funded the taliban to fight russia, (arch enemy of usa0, giving them loads of guns, weapons tanks etc,,then after 9/11, when (sauds and yemenis) high jacked planes, for some unknown reason usa went to war against taliban, why you might ask, becasue aparently al queada (who we'd never hear dof),trained in afghan, like the IRA trained inusa, see histroy is confusing

I think you mean the mujahideen, not the Taliban, and definitely not tanks. They didn’t become the Taliban. The Taliban captured Kabul in 1996, overthrew the dysfunctional Mujahideen-led government, and declared the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

@kittee Your willful ignorance renders your opinion that “gen Z knows nothing” useless. The Taliban hosted al Qaeda and the US was justified in its reprisals. Occupying Afghanistan was a different matter.
