Anti-Ice 🧊🚫... Pro America

When did we stop following American leaders like JFK

" My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man. "

Wouldn't America be greater if we made it easier for people to live and work here rather than waste money and destroy lives.

But hey, we just renamed lake Ontario and the gulf of Mexico, making America great again
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
Yeah, more democrats are needed, right?

Lostpoet · M
@sunsporter1649 Dude, I've never voted period and I come from a very conservative family and culture. I've never agreed with villianizing other cultures or people. I've always been for open boarders and the right to work.

I don't vote because I think the system is corrupt anyways and my voice doesn't really mean anything at all.

@sunsporter1649 No, it's I don't want to go through the hassle of the process just for no change. Don't call me a coward.

This is what he said:

"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you--ask what you can do for your country.
My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man
."

Notably asking the citizens of the world to work for the freedom of man(kind?) - whereas Americans were only asked to work for America.
.

@Lostpoet I'll honor that sentiment but - in a jocular way - stay dubious about its accuracy :).
Lostpoet · M
@Really I will and I'll stay hopeful for the American way.
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
@Lostpoet equality AND justice for all
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
We DO make it easy for people to move here. Easier than almost anywhere else on the planet .
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
@Lostpoet she studied a long time for it. Also paid about 8k in legal expenses over a 3 year period. Her dad became a citizen in 2018 and he’s the proudest American I know .
Should we also make illegal guns legal ?
Lostpoet · M
@AthrillatheHunt 🤷🏼idk, I don't own a gun.
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
@Lostpoet me neither. Probably never will .
Are you an illegal migrant ?
When the two sides, Dems and Republicans, created DHS and ICE, Americans used their media talking point - you need, desperately need!!!, law enforcement coordinated at all government levels that's got secrets and can kill you! And is above your laws. You bipartisanly need that! Since 911.
Lostpoet · M
@Roundandroundwego I'm definitely not for terrorism. I'm saying Jaun next door isn't a terrorist and shouldn't be treated like one.
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
@Roundandroundwego you’re SO close dude . The fallacy in your argument is you believing there’s 2 sides . Our govt is a shirts vs skins scrimmage . Same team.
Trump thinks he is making America richer by alienating you all from the rest of the world. He thinks that every country should pay protection money. He thinks that because he spends Trillions on his war machine that he should use it all to take over the world. Does America hold all the cards? He thinks so.
If instead, he used all that money to help America and buy down the deficit that would help, but he has zero compassion for others, all he sees is a bunch of ants running around eating up all his resources.
But all is not lost yet, November is coming soon and he will be castrated.
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
@SoftIceCream I wish he could be more like the other party and reduce the deficit. Oh wait , they didn’t reduce it either.
Really · 80-89, M
"Most Americans want equality for all" - if you substitute 'humans' for 'Americans' I'd be equally dubious.
Lostpoet · M
@Really You don't think the majority of people want equality?
Really · 80-89, M
@Lostpoet
You don't think the majority of people want equality?
Not those for whom it would mean bringing their own circumstances down to a maintainable average - and they are the ones with power.
Really · 80-89, M
@Really 'They' are also you and me.
swirlie · 31-35, F
..ah yes, but your way isn't the American way!
Lostpoet · M
@swirlie I'm not MAGA. I am for making America great.
Munumbis · 46-50, M
@Lostpoet Diversity is a weakness.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@Munumbis
...and I'll bet your personal investment strategy is to put your money in a savings account and hope for the best, right?

What you don't understand is that America's protectionist, isolationist mentality is what is causing the USA to fall to the sidelines in the global marketplace.
Munumbis · 46-50, M
America would just disolve away replaced by some meaningless globalist dystopia. It would be one more step toward a global dictatorship.
Lostpoet · M
@Munumbis I don't think it would be that extreme.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@Munumbis
Funny you should say that because that is precisely what is happening to the USA right now... it is melting and dissolving and becoming less and less relevant on the world stage with each passing day of Trump's Presidency.
Munumbis · 46-50, M
Really · 80-89, M
@Lostpoet Not sure what you consider 'The American Way.' That's a sentiment too vague to endorse. But being hopeful is good :)
GoFish · 41-45, F
😒 you're swallowing leftist propaganda
Lostpoet · M
@Really She just likes pushing my buttons.
Really · 80-89, M
@Lostpoet Elsewhere I noted that he asked the citizens of the world to work for 'the freedom of man' but Americans were only asked to work for America.
Lostpoet · M
@Really I think the Americans were part of the world citizens.
