We need to model the US more closely on Ancient Rome in the Imperial period back when it was working well!

The problem there is there's always been an inverse relationship between the church's political power and spiritual power. When Christian's were being tortured to death it couldn't be beat! Once it got into government, it did a better job of telling people what to do, but wasn't so good at spreading the message
