You do realize that Spanish-speakers were in this country before the first English settlers came, right ?

Even my family’s been here since the 1700s, so I will criticize my homeland when I don’t believe it’s living up to its promises.

And the Constitution says that I can do that.

@averageguy You can’t know what environment made me successful. To assume you do is presumptuous and possibly biased.

@bijouxbroussard you were successful in America, I know the environment you were successful in
@averageguy You know the country. It’s a country with a Constitution that allows its citizens the right to even criticize its government. I have that right regardless.
As do you.
averageguy · 46-50, M
@bijouxbroussard lol, while disrespecting and disregarding the privilege you've been given
@averageguy

You have no idea what my family paid for said "privileges", one of which was the right to criticize my government.

My father, uncles, and grandfathers all fought for those privileges, and I respect my family by
exercising them freely.
averageguy · 46-50, M
@bijouxbroussard yep, and all that happened under complete freedom, good for you!
@averageguy Yes, I have the freedom, as a citizen,to criticize my government when I think they’re in the wrong. That was my original contention.
averageguy · 46-50, M
@bijouxbroussard then use it to celebrate your ability to be so successful and ponder what your life would be like otherwise
@averageguy I can do that, too. Freedom—to do either, or both.
averageguy · 46-50, M
@bijouxbroussard and it's atrocious to be anything but thankful to the constitution and law that gave you so much
@averageguy You don’t understand, and unfortunately you’re also a bigot. So I don’t imagine you’ll ever see past your own privilege in this country, which isn’t everyone’s, btw.
