Plan to survive expect the worst hope for the best. Senile politics?

I had that equation all mixed up. Based on America’s and humanitiy’s trajectory, society requires the best expects the worst and plans to complain.
Sounds a lot like a toddler nearing retirement.
Is there a solution to senile politics?
