Literally all of this is wrong except for for the last bit. Russian socialism hasn't been a thing for 30 years and Chinese communism is responsible for the largest increase in life expectancy in recorded history.
The rest of your comments on this are Cold War talking points, not history.
A peer reviewed study in the 1980s proved Marxist socialism creates the highest quality of life at the same economic level based on all metrics from infant mortality to life expectancy.
That is why capitalist apologists like to compare the US to countries like Laos. You have to basically sit on the scales to make their argument work.
And China is not capitalist. And even their critics change their minds depending on the argument. The argument China is capitalist hinges entirely on the argument "but markets". By that metic every system from the USSR to Feudal Europe is capitalist. It is silly games.
And Europe is objectively not socialist and it is funded by neo colonialism and unequal exchange.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow appreciate the perspectives my query is to distinguish what America labels as Chinese communism from what I’m seeing as brutal Russian communism. My experience of Europe was socialist capitalism; no?
In essence resource rich Ukraine is being invaded by distribution starved Russia. And Ukraine is actually resource rich, a democracy, and probably trying capitalism). I seek to understand

@jehova First off it is socialism or Marxism not communism.
And Russian socialism has not existed since 1991.
And no, Europe is capitalism with a safety net. In fact that system was created by conservatives as an anti socialist measure. The idea is to make people just comfortable enough they don't revolt. Thank Otto Bismark for that.
And you are way off on the situation in Ukraine. Distribution starved Russia? That doesn't even make sense.
Ukraine was overthrown by the US and EU in 2014 and turned into a sock puppet. Zelensky lied his way into power promising reconciling and bringing peace but instead was just another empty suit pushing the NATO colonization of Eastern Europe and pushing the agenda of American capital. That is why he violated the Ukrainian constitution to sell off all their farm land to companies like Cargil and Monsanto.
And Zelensky cancelled elections in violation of the constitution and declared himself president for life. This is why he has set conditions for elections that will allow him to basically be ruler for life unless Ukraine falls entirely.
He has exiled or charged any rivals with treason. Basically he is everything the US claims Putin is.
Basically the Wish.com Boris Yeltsin with a coke habit instead of vodka.
The US will never forgive Russia for not behaving like a conquered nation.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow very insightful thank you I see some of that too but obviously my sources of information must be biased and inaccurate where do you get your information?
I seek to learn and become informed
Thank you!

@jehova Well the first source is basic history books.
The USSR ended in 1991.
The next source is Marxist theory. Socialism is a transition state that eventually brings about communism which is basically Star Trek if you want an example. Where scarcity doesn't really exist and currency becomes irrelevant.
Class becomes irrelevant because there is no longer a need to create artificial hierarchies to justify unequal distribution of resources.
And the first social welfare state in Europe was brought about in Germany under Otto Bismark a conservative and a monarchist. They were scared shitless by the Marxist uprisings in 1848 and the social welfare state was created to basically keep the peasants just comfortable enough that they would not revolt and to undermine socialists.
All the stuff about Ukraine comes largely from Ukrainian media. Including some that are now sanctioned because the truth doesn't line up with the proxy war narrative.
As for the US proxy war in Ukraine even the US Secretary of State officially admitted it.
There is also the famous audio tape of Victoria "fuck the EU" Neuland hand selecting the Ukrainian government in 2014 after the coup that was carried out under the cover of the Maidan protest.
The New York Times has bragged about how the CIA and MI6 basically turned the Ukrainian intelligence services into local franchises of the CIA and MI6.
The thing is you have to be willing to look into what is actually going on and not just blindly accept what is being fed to you.
Just an example.
A terrible propagandist for Forbes David Axe is just bad at his job.
He is probably the number 1 source of the Russian "meat wave" myth.
He will claim Russia sends massive waves of ill trained and unsupported infantry and then immediately describe basic infantry tactics used by every military since WW2 including NATO. He count on his audience having no idea how infantry deployment works.
He also is well known for repeating wildly exaggerated Russian casualties uncritically and about 6 lines down just casually mention none of the figures he provided before are supported by anything and unsubstantiated.
Again people like him count on his audience being ignorant and uninquisitive.
He banks on readers taking everything at face value.
He doesn't want his audience to think, or try and verify anything. Don't actually try and find local sources for anything. And never look at the other side of the equation...ever.
