1st amendment: Explicitly state that only living beings can have rights and that living being rights must supercede laws pertaining to concepts. A solid definition of what a living being is should be included. Yet must not stipulate any form of concept.
Just this one amendment would be so controversial, that it might cause a civil war on several fronts.

@DeWayfarer I love this. No chance of there being a second Citizens United.

@DeWayfarer Reference to bots?

@onewithshoes At the present time in the United States of America, a corporation is considered person, legally. It has the same rights to some extent as an individual human being. This is a way for CEOs and board members to avoid accountability, particularly when it comes to campaign donations. There are plenty of other reasons why this is a terrible idea, and somebody who is more knowledgeable can help explain.

@onewithshoes While @LordShadowfire reason is absolutely correct, I made this very broad for multiple reasons.
By the 10th amendment a State has rights. A state as well is a concept. In fact that is a small part of how that portion of the 14th amendment was created for corporations, very much later.
Yet looking to the future, other concepts could be considered to have rights. Artificial intelligence being one, yet it could even get worse than that.
Imagine what other concepts could likely have rights! The religious people could argue, that their deities have rights as well.

@DeWayfarer I see. I wasn't aware of that. Does that mean a fictional character can have rights? Asking for Corvus.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@LordShadowfire Using that reasoning it could be done. I don't trust people to not do such things.

@LordShadowfire You may be thinking that I am joking.
Just look to other religious states like Iran.

@DeWayfarer I definitely do not think you're joking. Thinking about the Evangelical Church, they would definitely pull that.
