Who still believes that the 2026 mid-terms will be fair elections, or even take place at all in blue states?
I remember VIVIDLY in 2016 listening to Trump supporters I worked with claiming that Obama was going to suspend the election to hold onto power, while nothing remotely like Trump's actions this year was taking place in 2016. The idea was completely implausible and laughable batsh*t lunatic fringe conspiracy theory along with some nutty "Jade Helm" conspiracy theory back in 2016. Now that the Trump supporter's have control of the government, it's literally unfolding before our eyes. But now they don't bat an eye, they don't care, they even LIKE this. The people who were sh*tting themselves in 2016 about Obama staying in office are salivating today.
Even Lindsey Graham openly states he would love to see a (constitutionally prohibited) third term for Trump. But really a third term wouldn't be four more years, it would be more like 40 years of Franco in Spain.
Who believes the military will save the day by refusing to follow unlawful orders? We're already using F-35s to blow up boats off the coast of Venezuela with zero proof that the actions are anything but war crimes and the murder of innocent civilians. The pilots are not refusing the orders. Remember, Apache gunners were murdering innocent civilians in Iraq, And ex-military people right here on SW indicate they do not believe there is such a thing as an unlawful order, while also freely admitting they would like to see your free speech suppressed if you want to discuss the military (in spite of the fact that you funded their lifestyle as a taxpayer, in spite of the fact that they won't ask Trump their tired "did you serve?" ad hominem deflection). Why would anyone have faith in the military to do the right, constitutional thing at this point? Much of the military is MAGA, some were / are even QAnon people. It's beginning to seem like the US is a lost cause and a failed state on the precipice of being relegated to history.
MAGA people are not your friends. And perhaps the non-MAGA people who normalize MAGA people by happily befriending them and interacting with them like they are normal humans, including right here on SW, are not your friends either. The things that are happening are gravely serious this time around, in sharp contrast to the MAGA conspiracy theories of 2016. The people you know here (or perhaps THOUGHT you knew) who claim to not be fascists but happily normalize rather than ostracize other people here who they KNOW and ACKNOWLEDGE are MAGA people are complicit in anything that is happening and will happen. You are the company you keep.
