Do US schools teach French language more than Spanish while migrant gangs enter US from Latin America speak Spanish and not French?

I was talking to a friend who recently moved to Canada from Ukraine. He was laughing that in Ukraine they taught English as a second language. Here in Western Canada his kids are learning Spanish even though Canada is French English bilingual.
