Do US schools teach French language more than Spanish while migrant gangs enter US from Latin America speak Spanish and not French?

I was talking to a friend who recently moved to Canada from Ukraine. He was laughing that in Ukraine they taught English as a second language. Here in Western Canada his kids are learning Spanish even though Canada is French English bilingual.

In college you choose which language you want to learn. Before that, they usually just offer Spanish or whatever local language is common.
