Has Donald Trump almost fully destroyed tourism to the USA mainland and territories?

Apparently it's such a serious issue that a 'trade delegation' of government-sponsored US tourism advocates is coming to Australia.

I live in a tourist town on the coast. We're not doing so good this year so my hours are getting cut... Yes, the trump economy is hurting every one

@ScreamingFox I live in a tourist town as well. We have also seen a down turn in Californians crowding our streets this summer season
Not entirely - like that heavy traffic in Seattle - mostly people doing non optional things like biopsies and surgeries. It's not a fun country.

Why would you risk wasting all your money being turned around at the border or even just going through the unpleasantness of the officialdom of a paranoid government, when there are plenty of wonderful and welcoming alternatives? Australia would be an option of an English speaking alternative, but beauty and relaxation can be found in many safe and stable parts of the world.

@FreddieUK Simply being asked to hand over passwords/pins to unlock my devices (if I took any) and open up any/all emails and social media accounts to border gestapo security is enough to make me never want to go to the USA ever again.

@zonavar68 That's new to me, but I agree 100%. It's as bad as China's surveillance. The 'free' world no longer exists in the USA it seems and JD Vance has the audacity to lecture Europe on free speech.
Trump really isn't in control, but yeah, his policies are hurting tourism pretty badly.
