Should k 12 education prepare kids for reality or fantasy?

so children are given 2 months (8 to 10 weeks) vacation for summer; to enjoy the weather and family. To experience life outside of the controlled setting that is school, to grow up and experience life. Parents and adults work YEARROUND to pay bills and raise a family. Government employees are adults and work year round. Non-government workers are lucky to get 4 weeks of accrued leave time per year. as a government employee i was getting 2 week of sick time 1 week personal and 1 week vacation per year. a total of 4 weeks of accrual time a year). Politicains (especially in congress) get more paid time away from work than any other group. Are they adults? or children? Most are over retirement age, which is 65. So somethings gotta give!
The working retired (politicians) are sinking America!
Therefore given the best case scenario 4 weeks paid leave per calandar year. But kids get 2 months.
And congress gets 5 or 6 weeks recess.

I'm not about to do the math, but it feels like Congress gets a hell lot more time off than that ...

In theory, it's to meet with their "constituents", but when their "home" most of them (at least in my area) don't actually have any meetings, town halls nor rallies, or any sort of events where an average person can express their feelings or opinions to them.

What is really destroying America (among other things) is that politicians aren't even attempting to fix problems anymore, instead, they desire there to be more problems, as when their is more problems, they blame the other side and use it as a rallying call for how the people need to listen to them more, but in reality, they're set to create more problems to have more rallying calls ...

Also, politicians, on both sides (in America) are spending unbelievable money, as it's the people's credit card and we can't hold them accountable....

And so they just give billions away, so the billionaires keep finding and restocking their campaigns.

@sstronaut thats exactly my point. The amount of time politicians are actually doing the job compared to just lolligagging. It isnt representative of either reality nor their constituients. AND the next generation is only being prepared for a schedule that doesnt have accountability.
ONLY CHILDREN AND CONGRESS GET RECESS.
government employees are not the problem antique politicians are.

You have to start by teaching kids financial literacy. The difference between cash and credit, assets and liabilities. Then let them decide how they value their lives..Now too many dig themselves into holes they never climb out of..And have no idea they are being screwed over..😷

@Roundandroundwego congress approved? A president doesnt enact laws. Congress does. Or simply goes on recess
