What made America Great?

What happened to leaders like this?? I know he wasn't perfect and you're all going to tell me all about the things he did wrong or illegal or whatever ... but I just love this speech...

And please don't misunderstand me. I'm NOT an open borders advocate. But I DO believe strongly that lawful, orderly immigration is and has been one of America's strengths for 240+ years.

It wasnt the leadership that made America great. It was the people, with willingness to work for the future of their children and big ideas they aspired to.. Now the real leadership hides behind money and has ideas for the quick profit now..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Agreed!! And isn't that partly what this speech was saying? It's the people and specifically the fact that we were (are) a mix of all peoples that enabled greatness in America's history.

And before people start on me, no I'm not saying we were or are perfect or that we've never made mistakes. Of course we have. That's not what this is about. It's about us as a people.

@sarabee1995 I think many want to hide within their self m-made bunkers and ignore what is clearly unspeakable behavior that would have never been acceptable 10yrs ago. Evangelicals which were very vocal about everything turn their heads now. And division couldn't be a bigger issue. I don't think anyone thinks that immigration, the budget, and other important topics are the wrong ones to focus on. But the way they are being addressed is fucked up. A clear example is the former leader of DOGE who was recently God's child is now being investigated for removal of citizenship and deportation. Anyone that defies the administration is a target. It's personal.
