Financial privileges that are only available to the wealthy.

@SunshineGirl it ought to be illegal. Most places in the world increase taxes over a certain threshold. For example, First 40k is 30% then up to 65k is 35% after
80k its 50%. Thats ideal i think.

@exchrist progressive taxes are fair. Orange has floated the idea of no fed income taxes for people earning under a certain amount. Do you think that’s a good idea ?

@AthrillatheHunt A threshold before you start paying any income tax is fair and an essential part of a progressive taxation system. No sense in taxing those who are struggling to support themselves.

@exchrist Trusts have their origins in legitimate and moral objectives . . safeguarding a charitable or philanthropic enterprise, for example. But they are abused by wealthy individuals seeking to avoid paying their fair dues to society.

@AthrillatheHunt i would prefer a flat tax only exception below a cretain amount. Especially until the debt is paid. American federal gov't is crazy in debt.
At the same time perhaps there need to be limits on "safeguarding charitable or philanthropic enterprises". Seems every ultrawealthy person has a "charitable endeavor" to avoid taxes.
