Do you dislike all Americans because of their President?

A very similar post was up for a short time yesterday before being removed for reasons only known to the poster. However, the deletion meant that some very positive comments disappeared along with an interesting sub-thread with views about why Trump was considered the lesser of two evils to some voters. I am giving a chance to those who responded to re-post or for new contributions.

Here's my answer:

No. I know of many fine Americans who have morals and integrity and who are suffering a great deal of angst an the moment as they see what's happening.

No, I only dislike those who voted for him. And no, I don't think a political vote defines what kind of person someone is, but this election wasn't political. It was about raising or resisting tyranny, and that says everything about someone's morals.

@NerdyPotato So you can make up your mind about a person because of an opinion, belief or a vote?
That kind of shows what kind of a person you are.
@Adrift if that "opinion" is that half the population should not exist, yes. And I really hope that that shows what kind of person I am.

@NerdyPotato wow! It looks like your have really narrowed down your options in relationships.
Good luck with that.
@Adrift no problem. I'm not interested in a relationship with someone who rather sees me dead than alive anyway.

@NerdyPotato Oh such drama.
In reality, most of those people are busy surviving themselves and dont even know you exist.
@Adrift that can't be right. If they really didn't know the LGBTQ+ community, people of color, disabled people, etc. exist, they wouldn't try so hard getting rid of those groups.

@NerdyPotato i know specifically of a few people of the categories you just listed that did vote for him.
Try again.
Adrift · 61-69, F
@Adrift @NerdyPotato So you have heard this from their mouths with your own two ears huh?
So how often do you sit in at their conventions and meetings?
@Adrift try again? Why don't you try making a point for me to reply to first. A few people of the targeted groups not understanding it hurts them doesn't mean anything. And yes, I've heard it with my own two ears. There's this great thing called recordings nowadays.

@Adrift Um, well, behavior might have a slight influence too, on one's judgement of a person 🙄.
Adrift · 61-69, F
@NerdyPotato There is also snips and manipulation via studio magic plus AI.
Those people of the targeted groups you speak of are able to think, reason and speak for themselves.
Adrift · 61-69, F
@ffony Meaning?
@Adrift and there's also the laws they vote for or reject that confirms their goals. Of course you'll have to look beyond Fox News and Breitbart for that though.
Adrift · 61-69, F
@NerdyPotato Funny I don't watch either one of those.
You sure have a lot assumptions about people that you have never really met or dont even know.
@Adrift if your media diet is wider than that, you must know all of this is true. So why are you defending people who vote for such policies? Are you in favor of these ideas too? It sure seems that way with how little effort you put into denouncing these things.

I was responding to this bit of silliness ......
So you can make up your mind about a person because of an opinion, belief or a vote?
But of course responding is really pointless.
Adrift · 61-69, F
@ffony True, sometimes I just get in the mood to fight with someone. It gets me pumped up for the gym. Ha ha.

Let's see a link genius. Sounds like you are reading your 3rd Reich comic book again
@Thrust it's not a comic. It's reality.

A link? To which example?

@Adrift Let's say we're in another country and someone voted for a hypothetical leader that said racist stuff and tried to shut down media, threaten protesters and other actions, by what merit is it not okay to judge someone for voting in that person?
ffony · M
@SatanBurger Let's say I think you're an open minded, carefully thoughtful person ... nah, it's not working.
