Do you dislike all Americans because of their President?

A very similar post was up for a short time yesterday before being removed for reasons only known to the poster. However, the deletion meant that some very positive comments disappeared along with an interesting sub-thread with views about why Trump was considered the lesser of two evils to some voters. I am giving a chance to those who responded to re-post or for new contributions.

Here's my answer:

No. I know of many fine Americans who have morals and integrity and who are suffering a great deal of angst an the moment as they see what's happening.

I AM an American..I can understand their dislike b/c of our bullying posture toward other countries, the blase use of the Nazi salute, and the ugly stance of some of our citizens

@bookerdana But there are many we know, like you, who will stand up for truth.

@bookerdana Some of us are definitely arrogant. I am not going to name the country as I do not want to detract so much, but I visited a country where the men urinated on the walkways that we had to use to go to and from our transportation. When we asked our escorts why they had done this the reply was because their people HATE arrogant Americans. Same place, I almost caused an incident because we were at one of the wonders of the world and walking back to our transportation. A young man had cut the straps on an older females bag and when she held on he was beating her up. I came along and I told him in a forceful voice to leave her alone. I shoved him away from the woman and showed him that not all women will let him attack another. He yelled obscenities at me and threatened me but I wasnt backing down. Had that happened in America I would have pretty much been a witness at a trial, but in this country, as a woman I shouldn't have been bold and spoken out to this man. Kinda messed up, but we were escorted away because of that and I was in the wrong for defending a frail woman. Some of the hatred I think is because of our different culture.

@FreddieUK But the images that come through the internet -television are powerful..the demonizing of immigrants who may have been here for over ten years and contribute to their community and country..on SW there is an international feel ,we see folks from every continent daily..but my friend in Canada is afraid they will lose their health care if the 51st state thing goes through

France? Whether it was or not, that's what men wearing 3-piece suits do on their walk to work in the morning in downtown France.
