Why are all states in America so divided and hate each other? Should we get rid of all man made state borders to reunite us all?

United States more like divided states of America?

The states were all settled at different times by different people and each with their own view and expectations of the American Dream.

The myth of the American dream has bred in its people the belief that their own personal vision for the country's future and identity is the only true way forward. So many people left the 'old world' with dreams of making a new one and this way of thinking has been passed down over the generations to eventuate as the concept of the 'American Dream'. The only problem is that not everybody's dream can come true and this creates division.

There is also the hyper religious nature of its people and religion is something which can be cherry picked by the individual to back up their own personal feelings. For example there's even passages in the bible which can be used to back up slavery. And religion is great for causing division, and getting people worked up about, especially when they're passionate about it. Religion is is all about faith and faith has no basis in reality, it's all in the realm of imagination and personal preference, you cant use faith to lay bricks or put up a building and simply pray everything that will be alright.

Another problem is the lack of any real national identity which leads to many US citizens falling back on their ancestral heritage, which can lead to a lot of bias and racism and sticking together in one's racial group. For example there are people of Italian heritage in America who refer to themselves as Italians. They're not born in Italy and they grew up in America as American citizens, they are Americans to the rest of the world but within America they see themselves, and are seen apart by other groups who have placed themselves within groups via their ancestry, as Italian.

Slavery. They had a percentage of the population that were not even recognized as human beings and were kept in bondage up until a hundred and fifty years ago or so, and not only that, but let's face it, half the country were willing to fight a war over keeping fellow human beings in slavery and bondage. Imagine that, people willing to put their lives on the line simply to keep an institution which kept other humans are commodities. And even then, after they freed the slaves they still kept them as 2nd class citizens and even today, people of mixed African and European heritage in America are treated with bias and mistrust.

There's also the fact that the nation was born out of rebellion and so to legitimize their country's existence, there has been a fashion of propaganda which the goal to inspire patriotic fervor over the years with no real basis in fact or reality, but this is ignored to prop up the nation's self esteem and to help turn each child born on American soil into a red, white and blue blooded patriot willing to stand up in defense of the state, that they've been brought up to semi worship.

So there you have it, and there are probably a bunch of other points I could add but I'm too damned tired, so that'll have to do. To sum up, America wasn't settled at once and it certainly wasn't settled by just one select group of people, America is a melting pot of the multiple waves of settlers which spread out across the plains and mountains and so forth over the years, each looking to bring their own vision of the new world to pass. But we all cant get what we want, and that and slavery, too much religion, lack of any real national identity and people just being jerks is why America is such a divided place.

The division is primarily between those that are independent, and those that need coddling.

State pride is a sorry state of affairs. Virginia! they shouted, as they charged headlong into death- and all so they could continue abusing whole groups of people.

You have the cart before the horse

Humanity would never allow the erasing of all borders and nation states to happen UNTIL the intangible divisions are eliminated

"Culture" is one barrier to this sort of evolution (culture is the emotional defense for not having a single human language and alphabet, for instance ... breaking down communication barriers is objectively good, but humans are not yet fully objective and prioritize something else above enhanced communication)

Nations and borders will long continue as a side effect of the internal, emotional, irrational, illogical, symbolic, selfish, narcissistic elements we have not yet evolved beyond
