Do you think the united states of america is a racist country?

I want your opinion. I think that it has some racist mechanism with immigrations, law enforcement, and justice system but overall I will say no because you can be whatever it is you want to be in the united states.

There are no racist countries - just racist people. All over the world in every country. Why did the Van Halen brothers have to leave their native Holland in the 60s? Because their Indonesian mother was not accepted there, nor was the family. So the Van Halens move to LA and get some of the same treatment.

@graphite I agree, mostly, but there have been times and countries, where the official position has been racist. The USA had a not look policy about slavery, which was primarily blacks from Africa, and S Africa had apartheid. I hope that these are behind us, but, seeing the rise of the white supremacy movement in the US, I am unsure of the future.

@samueltyler2 Slavery was banned in the US in 1865. It still exists in many countries today. Why is the Left so focused on slavery that was banned almost 165 years ago while ignoring slavery that still exists elsewhere? Doesn't fit the narrative of Evil-America, Good-Everyplace Else? The rise of the "white supremacy movement"? Utter nonsense. Just Democrats pushing their bullsh** without ever backing it up with any actual facts. How come Democrats NEVER talk about all the mixed race families where nobody gives a s*** about the skin color? It's just Uncle Bob, not Uncle Bob who's black. Doesn't fit the Democrats divide-and-conquer gameplan?

@graphite I didn't intend to strike a nerve. Communication by text is always difficult, since one takes the written word as black and white.

Yes, I am upset about things happening in other countries. But, we, living in the US, should not be hypocritical when we condemn only others in other countries.

I am not happy with your comment that the "Left" is so focused on slavery, it isn't a left versus right thing. It isn't a democrat versus republic either. Or, at least it should not be. I won't get into an argument about the official banning of slavery in the US, but it is overly simplistic to deny that there is still separation by race in many aspects of life in the US.

I don't know how you can deny the rise of the white supremacy movement, but I suppose I can't quote any source that you will accept.

I am sorry if i bumped into your particular beliefs. But, please, do not denigrate anyone else's views, making your discussion purely political, being even more divisive, gets you nowhere with me, if that matters at all.

@samueltyler2 Please provide details on the "white supremacy movement." How many members? Its history? Its leaders? Its websites? Just more Democrat bulls*** Like CNN, ESPN jumping all over the BYU racial slur story and going quiet when the whole thing is discredited. If Democrats can't find enough real racism to fuel their divide-and-conquer junk, they'll make some up.

@graphite As I said, I will not get into an argument with you, no matter what citation I give you, you will ignore it. Do yourself a favor and Google it yourself! You are acting just like the denier I said you seem to be.

@samueltyler2 So despite the "white supremacy movement" being supposedly so prominent, you can't describe it, can't name the leaders, can't cite the number of adherents, etc. OK. I think I understand now.

@graphite You know, I have tried to be a gentleman and not responded to your inane comments. I will state the same, do a Google, that will answer all of your questions. Why should I waste my time with you, since you seem convinced there is no White Supremacy movement?

@samueltyler2 Google: Loyal servants of the Democrat Party. I think I'll pass.
