Should I just give up on this country and move to Canada?

It's obvious that hate is winning in this country now. A group of nine unelected people plan to take away all the freedoms that have been granted over the last 40 years. Should I just say screw it, and assume America is a lost cause?

Absolutely not. The US was in just as bad of a place in the Lochner era and it recovered from it, no thanks to whatever turncoats saw it fit to pack up and leave. If you really wanna make a big change in your life, move to a swing state.

@BlueVeins as long as you aren't moving from a blue state with a light blue majority, unwittingly making it a swing state too

Why? Fuck them. This is our country and we need to fight for it.

If this latest draconian fiasco what the only problem I would scream "Save your nation" and man the Barracades. But sadly its only a small symptom of whats going on. Democracy is being filed down so that only the "right people" get to vote. Justice is being pared back so only the rich can afford it. Dont even consider trying for good health care or a decent education unless you have the right insurance cover and live in the right area. Of course, god will protect you, as long as you pay and dont expect any actual help. And dont expect regulatory authorities to keep your water clean, your air fresh or your food healthy or clean. They arent funded to actually do those things. But the good news is maybe you live in an place where the police will show up if you have to call 911.
And hanging over all this, lets remember that the $30 plus Trillion America owes the world for everything from oil to auto components and flat screen TVs is still rising as is inflation now. And sooner or later those people are going to want their money. If not from you today, then from your children.
Some of these problems exist in other places. And sure there are worse places to live. Places were you can get shot at way more regularly than in America. But with this future, looked at in its entirety, Is America really salvagable by someone who is just struggling to break even like you?😷
Stop and think for a minute. A majority of the bureaucrats in our government were not elected, but have great sway and influence and many of their actions and decisions affect us .If you doubt that look at the agencies involved in the pandemic response , the things they deemed appropriate. The recommendations they put out that very much had an impact on our lives.
And if you’re seriously considering Canada think that over, too.
We’re a young nation as nations go and we have problems now and have had them in the past. Don’t give up on your country .
Did you know you still must pay taxes?

Once you renounce your US citizenship, you will no longer have to pay US taxes. However, the US government does charge a fee of $2,350 to relinquish citizenship.

If I renounce my US citizenship, am I free from US taxes?
no and now it is the time to see if americans can fix themselves . we are divided and that is what the people in power want . a mass of people is easy to control when divided.

Maybe not that extreme, but if you live in a red state and can afford to move, move to a blue state.

Let the backwards hicks drown in their own filth.

I don't think there is an ideal country, and trying to get residency or citizenship anywhere other than the country you were born in is not easy.
