@Nimbus I'm sure you raise a valid concern.
Assuming Andy Burnham is the new PM, the first test will be does he appoint Ed Miliband as Chancellor? If so with his unrealistic green ECO targets we are due for more tax rises and further borrowing with a bottomless pit of treasury budget spent on that.
In that scenario i think i would be seeing the International Monetary Fund called into the UK for a second time in my lifetime, for a second labour administration heading toward bankrupting the UK and that would lead to cuts in public spending that way way out reach anything Starmer and Reeves originally wanted to put through.

@gandalf1957 I hear you.
I think it's inevitable that we all face further tax rises and uncertainty but I'm not sure that Miliband will be Chancellor, but then again, is there anyone in the Labour Party that would be suitable.
I'm not sure.
Roll on 2029.

Why so people put shit off until tomorrow...yeah I am guilty of that to.

He has NOT done that.
Despite what Mr. Trump claimed in his own lie that Sir Keir telephoned him to say so - the second time in less than a week that Trump has LIED about what foreign premiers have said to him.
Sir Kier Starmer may yet resign, but he has not done so yet and he would NOT announce it to a foreign president first.

@ArishMell I think you got your information THIRD hand. Here is what Trump wrote on Truth Social:

Keir Starmer will resign as Prime Minister of The United Kingdom. He failed badly on two very important subjects- IMMIGRATION AND ENERGY (OPEN NORTH SEA OIL!). I wish him well! President DJT

@4meAndyou I don't buy the national papers and do not rely on American social-media for news about my country's internals; but I heard all the announcements and a lot of speculation on BBC Radio Four; which I do trust.
It clearly avoided stating the PM will resign, until he announced his decision to do so. Not what some foreign president said.
As for Trump's remarks there, thank you for telling me them. They make things worse! The UK's handling of immigration and its fuel and energy policies are nothing to do with Mr. Trump.
(Someone on another recent thread on SW said the US is trying to tell Germany to raise the costs of medicine within Germany. Another foreign internal matter of no business to the USA; although obviously the change of a nation's leadership is.)
