Half an hour of nostalgia

I watched this from beginning to end. Having been born in Britain in the post war years a dozen of these meals were familiar to me and my grandmother made the most wonderful semolina pudding I have never had since..
It was a different time. But as things are today, maybe there will be a place for this austere style again. 😷

50p a serving is impressive . . but not quite in the range of Conservative/Reform UK MP Lee ("30p Lee") Anderson's outstanding home economics.

I didn't watch the video to the end, so this may already have been mentioned, but I can buy a kilo of porridge oats in plain packaging for around £1.20p - one serving for breakfast can fuel me throughout the day. Exactly the same product in branded Quaker Oats packaging will set you back around eight times as much.
