Times are getting hard . . .

A Guardian investigation into thousands of Cameo messages recorded by Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, has resulted in the self-styled patriot withdrawing his services (£106 a message) over "security concerns".

Among the more controversial messages:

(1) He repeated the well known right wing extremist phrase "If in doubt, kick them out" in multiple videos.
(2) He hilariously exclaimed "Up the Rhodesia!"
(3) He positively endorsed a Canadian neo-Nazi group.
(4) He sympathised with a criminal jailed for rioting and attacking asylum seekers' accommodation.
(5) He mocked Welsh as a "foreign language" (should go down well in the Senedd elections in May 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿).
(6) He repeated an anti-semitic conspiracy theory.

The videos, all made "in good faith", were recorded last year while Farage was supposedly representing the seat of Clacton-on-Sea in parliament. He still has not held a single MP's surgery in his constituency.

He's a money grabbing con-man. I'm not sure that 'in good faith' is a term that he understands.

By the way, not Patreon but something called Cameo, according to the BBC.

@FreddieUK Thanks, my mistake. "Good faith" should be in speech marks. Those were his own words. Apparently his right to pocket £106 a time for recording a short message is more important than exercising any political sense. I am sure that some of those messages were set ups, as he claims, but that just shows how unprincipled and unfocussed on doing the job of an MP he is.

The mystery is that he still has supporters!

I am proudly centre left and a huge fan of Bernie Sandars and AOC! 😇😇😇 The far right is cruel! 😭😭😭 I think centre left is best place to be politically as centre left is not taking being left wing to an extreme but is safely left of centre! 😌😌😌 Centre right is okay too but far right is dangerous and so is far left just as dangerous but hardly exists unlike the far right! 😠😠😠 Centrist is okay too but in my opinion centre left is the absolute best place to be politically and that is why I am proudly centre left! 😁😁😁 Judging by your views I'd honestly say your centre left too just like me! 😍😍😍

They are national front. Hopefully everyone will see that by the time elections come around.

@ninalanyon There will always be some knobs in the world but hopefully most decent people will see through him and vote accordingly.

@PatientlyWaiting25 But the danger is not merely that people will vote for him it is also that other political parties take on some of the same, for want of a better word, policies in order to woo people from the far right.

@ninalanyon That is the real danger. He is changing the political discourse to suit his own polirical ends. His constant chattering distracts people into believing that black is white. Which is why he needs to be called out for the hypocritical fraud he is.
I saw that about Welsh… Mae e'n ffôl.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales But a dangerous one
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@TheSirfurryanimalWales I hope many other people see it and come to their own conclusions. It is one thing to make a friendly joke about your neighbour. Quite another to call one of the older languages of these islands "foreign".

@SunshineGirl Especially when the name-calling is by someone who does have a sense of humour when not mocking anyone, but whom I've long thought more often sarcastic and bombastic than humorous.
